I have seen them ever since I was a child.

I didn’t know where they came from or why they were there. I couldn’t name them, but I could feel them. They made my stomach feel funny, my voice small and shaky, and they wouldn’t let me sleep at night.

They never left, not completely. But I’ve learnt to live with them.
